Dr. Mark Mittenthal
Dr. Mark J. Mittenthal graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut in 1971 and earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College of Union University in Albany, New York in 1975. He completed a general surgery internship and residency program at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in 1980. Dr. Mittenthal also completed a fellowship in peripheral vascular surgery at Emory in 1981.
Dr. Mittenthal is board certified in vascular and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and he is certified as a Registered Vascular Technologist. He is a member of the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, the Society for Vascular Surgery and the Emory Vascular Society. He is also a member of the American Medical Association, the Medical Association of Georgia, the Medical Association of Atlanta as well as a member of the Georgia Surgical Society, the Atlanta Vascular Society, and the Southeastern Surgical Congress.
Dr. Mittenthal has published articles in Surgery, The American Surgeon and Atlanta Medicine. He has made numerous presentations at medical conferences and to medical societies on a wide variety of vascular disease topics.
He is on the medical staff at Northside Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and North Fulton Medical Center. He has served as past Chief of the Department of Surgery and Director of the non-invasive diagnostic vascular laboratory at Northside Hospital. He served as past president of the Atlanta Vascular Society.
Dr. Mittenthal and Dr. J. Mark Rheudasil opened the Vein Center of Georgia in 1998 specializing in sclerotherapy and IPL, intense pulsed light technology for the treatment of spider veins, sunspots, age spots, birthmarks, unwanted hair and facial telangectasis.
Dr. Mittenthal has been in private practice in Atlanta for 26 years.
